Above you can see Ashby's finest hotel, L'Hotel de Royale. It recently received 4 RAC Stars (due to a printing error in the latest RAC Hotel Guide it has been erroneously quoted as haveing minus 4 stars!). Prices vary from minute to minute, but generally range from £30.00 for bed and breakfast (Weetabix or Lucky Charms) to £50.00 for bed and breakfast and access to running water and a lavatory.
Perhaps the biggest claim to fame though that L'Hotel de Royale has is that it once played host to Duncan Norvelle, who stopped there overnight whilst on his way to open a new Poundland in nearby Coalville. Signed photos can be seen in the hotel foyet, along with a large selection of 'Chase Me' memorabilia available for purchase, including postcards, mugs, t-shirts and mouse mats, all with a picture of Duncan on and a reproduction autograph.
