When you next get mugged in Ashby it is always worth making a mental note of where the police station is (pictured, left). You may also like to try and find a shortcut through the many dark and dangerous alleys so that you can get there quicker.
Unfortunatly, the police station has not been open to the public since 1997. There is a phone on the outside however that is free of charge and is connected directly to Leicestershire constabulary. This is out of order though.
No official reason has been given as to why the station is shut, although a rumour about something to with it being burgled just before it was closed may have something to do with it.
Whether you're old and incontinent or just a normal, healthy and young human being who has just been 'caught short' then you'll be pleased to know that Ashby has it's own unisex public toilet facilities (pictured, right).
Unfortunaly, these tend to get a bit busy. However, on a quiet day you can expect to queue for only 2-3 hours.
