Amateur photographer Mark Hersch was lucky enough to snag a screen seat on a trip into Chicago, therefore the world is a far better place because of it. He captured what may be the essential miraculous smartphone image we have seen this wintertime, as his jet descended toward O'Hare International Airport. The perfect laser beam traveled through the town, reflected off the pond, and was framed completely on Hersch's camera phone, producing the illusion of a heavenly city.
Based on a quote from regular Mail, this image ended up being even more one-in-a-million than this indicates. He said, "I seemed down and through a narrow break in the clouds, I saw the shadow of the Chicago skyline projecting on the pond. Strangely enough, I am a very frequent flyer and typically sit-in a aisle set, but about this flight there were only window seats available."
Hersch continued to state that he takes pictures for fun inside the spare-time. "My just regret is that the image is not as razor-sharp as I want; it's just an iPhone capture, most likely. Ironically, I am a devoted amateur photography enthusiast, with some pretty costly pro equipment."
